The parish needs volunteers to staff the Welcome Desk before and after Masses. Contact Ann Lambrecht 248-778-7500.
Father Forbes has approved several plans for which members of the Parish are requested to be a part.
Father Forbes so often says that he welcomes new ministries and Parish activities, but only if parishioners step forward and provide leadership. Are you willing to be that leader? If you want to live your Faith by becoming involved, please contact Faith Formation/Stewardship at 295-6550, ext. 130.
Right of Christian Initiation for Adults
About 150,000 people join the Catholic Church through the RCIA program each year. Our program has run from 4 to 20+ over the past 5 years.
To keep our program vibrant, we need help in two critical areas.
If you’ve been looking for a way to share your love of Christ, here’s your opportunity.
Please contact one of the three of us to let us know how you can help out.

RCIC is the method by which we bring unbaptized children into the Catholic Church (much like RCIA).
Many Catholics are not aware that by Canon Law, children who are seven years old or older must receive First Communion and Confirmation when they are Baptized in the Catholic Church.
At this point, we have the potential of having three children who will need RCIC this year.
Our goal is to provide as much individual attention as possible for these children and to do that, we need two or three teachers with elementary grade experience to help out.
If you’ve been looking for a way to share your love of Christ, and your teaching experience, here’s your opportunity.

A parishioner is needed to serve on the Stewardship Council. The time requirement is approx 2 hours a week.
Stewardship involves Time, Talent, Treasure, Prayer Service and Sharing. As we parishioners become more aware of our baptismal responsibilities and God's gifts to us, we want to reach out to others. Let us begin by asking God to help us dig deeper into our souls, so that we understand where we stand in our responsibility to be a more involved Christian, to be closer to God, to deeply understand the psalmist “What return can I make to the Lord, for all that the Lord has given to me?” (Psalm 116:12)
Please email or call Carolyn Gale at [email protected] 215-0250.
The Sacred Heart Parish Council is looking for new members to fill vacancies. The Parish Council is the consultative planning group that assists the Parish and the Pastor in achieving the Mission of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Candidates for membership must be practicing Catholics, registered parishioners of Sacred Heart, and be willing to work in an open, honest style with other members of the team.
Candidates must be available for meetings (10 per year). Experience in and knowledge of Parish activities is a plus. If you are interested in being considered as a Parish Council member, would like additional information, or can suggest a parishioner who would serve well as a Council member, please contact John Paulson, Chairman, at ([email protected]) with a brief biography about yourself along with a statement on why you would like to serve on the Parish Council.
Our Sacred Heart Money Counters are in need of volunteers to assist with weekly collections. If you are willing to help, We would require:
Founded in 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics, following Christ’s call to serve the poor, the suffering, and the deprived. Ever since its founding, Home Visits have been an important practice of Society and still are today. Through these visits, Vincentian members establish personal relationships with our neighbors in need, not only providing material assistance such as rent, utilities, food, or clothing, but also offering friendship, guidance, understanding, and prayer. The Parish of Sacred Heart will be forming a St Vincent de Paul Conference that will enable parishioners to help serve those in need in our area. If you would like to be part of the recruitment team to help make this happen contact Deacon Greg Cross or Mark Evans at 910-992-9307, or [email protected].
Would you like to be a member of the “Dead Petals Society”? We are hoping to develop a new ministry to assist the Parish Sacristan to keep God's house beautiful. The responsibilities would include: Work with Sacristan to keep plants and flower bouquets fresh, i.e., water flowers and plants; remove debris from arrangements; freshen bouquets; assist with decorations for special feast days. If you would like to lead this ministry or be a part of the ministry please give either Nancy Paulson a call or email. This ministry will work primarily in the Church, have very few meetings and allow members to work as their schedules permit. We hope you will pick up dead petals, leaves and keep our Church beautiful!
