“… when you have a party, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; then you will be blessed, for they have no means to repay you and so you will be repaid when the upright rise.” (Luke 14:13 – 14). In this passage, God has given us a specific command to help the needy.
Sacred Heart is heeding this command by establishing a Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart. The Conference’s mission is to provide one–time financial assistance to help people, referred to as neighbors, who are in need and/or advocate for them with organizations that can help them. The disciples in this ministry contact neighbors who have reached out for services, identify the neighbors’ needs and resources to respond to them, raise funds for our work, and communicate our progress to you.
We encourage all members of our parish to help by:
We will be providing contact information for members of The Conference and advising you of our progress through our bulletin articles. In the interim, please email us [email protected].
