A NOTE FROM STEWARDSHIP…… “Every Christian is part of my own body because we are members of Christ.” No Man is an Island.” By Thomas Merton, Abbey of Gethsemane. Several of our new parishioners have asked, “What does the Parish do to improve the community?” Sacred Heart lives the teachings of Christ in the following ways:
Assistance via Family Promise ministry to the shelter for homeless women and children .
Rent assistance to the Life Care Pregnancy Center
Education and water resources in Uganda
Knights of Columbus special needs projects
San Juan Diego food and education assistance
Sandhills Coalition weekly food collections
WSH veterans assistance and Boys/Girls Club Christmas donation
Rosary Group military support packages
Emergency assistance to individual persons
Elphie proceeds support Hospice, Sandhills Children’s Center, Moore Free Clinic and North Moore Family Resource Center
We are currently seeking Parish volunteers to staff the Welcome Desk before and after Masses and a leader to restart Coffee and Doughnuts on the second Sunday of the month after 8 and 10 Masses. If you want to a part of these ministries, please contact Carolyn Gale.
