Parishioners are invited to create an Easter Food Gift Basket or donate a food gift card that will be donated to a Veteran in need or a Disabled Military Family. A food gift card is included in each basket for a ham, other meat or fresh produce.
Suggested items for you to purchase for the food basket: green beans, or other nonperishable vegetables, large can baked beans, box macaroni/cheese, instant mashed potatoes, large can of sweet potatoes, rice, 1 corn bread mix, 1 cake mix, 1 frosting mix,
canned fruit, 1 package of individual fruit juice, hot chocolate, Easter candy, a four pack of tooth brushes and tooth paste.
You can use a laundry basket or any suitable storage container decorated for Easter. You are also asked to include colorful paper napkins, tablecloth or place mats.
You can combine with another family or two to three other people to share the cost, or a class may take it on as a project to shop, assemble, and decorate your basket. A sample basket will be on display in the Gathering Area along with a sign-up sheet to designate
if you are doing a basket or donating a food gift card. Baskets are due by April 10. You can bring your basket to the Women of Sacred Heart Meeting in Founders Hall on Thursday, March 14. You may also drop off your basket by April 10 in Jeanne Ryan’s Office or leave in Founders Hall.
