Easter Food Gift Basket for Veterans in Need/Disabled Military Families
Here is an Opportunity to Serve and Have Fun with a Friend! Parishioners are invited to create an Easter Food Gift Basket that will be donated to a Veteran in Need or a Disabled Military Family. Women of Sacred Heart will supply a food gift card to incur the cost of an Easter Ham or other main course meat. Suggested Items for You to Purchase for the food basket: 2 cans of cut green beans,2 cans of cream of mushroom soup,1 small package French Fried Onions, 1 large can baked beans,1 box macaroni/cheese,2 envelopes instant mashed white potatoes,1 large can of sweet potatoes,1 box boil-in-bag rice,1 box corn bread mix,1 cake mix,1 frosting mix,2 cans tropical fruit cut up fruit,1 package containing 8 individual fruit juice,,1 small package of Hershey miniature candies, and 1 small package Hershey kisses. You can use a basket or any suitable storage container. Decorate the basket/storage container with colorful paper napkins, table cloth or place mats. Placing the candy in plastic Easter eggs also adds to a festive look. Your total Out of Pocket Cost will be about $45.00. We encourage you to work with two to three people, shop together, assemble the items and share the cost. Please let Joan Ward know if you will be providing a basket 295-6544. Completed baskets are due by March 16. You can bring your basket to the Women of Sacred Heart Meeting in Founders Hall on Thursday March 9, drop it off at any time before March 16 at Jeanne Ryan’s Office, or deliver it to Joan Ward’s home before March 16 (Please call her first: 295-6544).
