PARISH MISSION October 28 – November 1, 2023 Sacred Heart is hosting a mission given by the Vincentian Fathers. What is a Mission? Are you so involved in scurrying around with business, children, family, social activities that you have little time for quiet contemplation with God? A mission is a time of special grace when God calls us into a deeper relationship with him, a time for personal growth, a time to
listen to God, a time of spritual refreshment and invigoration.
Who is a Mission for? The mission is for all people, from inactive to very active. It is for all ages and for any stage in life- married, single, divorced, separated, widow, etc. We particularly invite those who want to know more about the church today and how it can take an active role in the everyday experiences of work, leisure, family and politics. It will include Mass, Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick.
The schedule for the Mission is as follows:
Saturday, October 28 - The Mission priests will be hearing confessions before Mass and Concelebrating the 4:30 Mass. One of the priests will be giving the homily.
Sunday, October 29 – The Mission priests will be concelebrating the 8:00 and 10:45AM Masses and giving the homily.
Monday, October 30 – There will be a Mass at 8:00AM and at 6:00PM. Both will include the same Mission talk. Light refreshments will follow in Founders Hall.
Tuesday, October 31 – The 8:00AM Mass will be the regular daily Mass with a Mission talk during the homily. Light refreshments will be served in Founders Hall following the Mass.
There will also be a 6:00PM Mass which is a Mass to celebrate All Saints Day which is a Holyday of Obligation. The homily will be given by one of the Mission priests. Light refreshments will be served in Founders Hall.
Wednesday, November 1 – All Saints Day and a Holyday of Obligation – Mass will be at 10:00 AM with the Mission Priests presiding and giving the homily and Mission talk. Light refreshments will follow. We have also added a Mass at 6:00PM where the Mission Priests will preside and give the Mission talk.
