FATHER JOHN FORBES has appointed Leola Brown as the Parish volunteer disciple to lead the Human Life and Dignity activities in the Parish. Human Life and Dignity Diocesan Committee works to promote the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. Lea has been a member of Sacred Heart Parish for two years. She came to Pinehurst to be with her daughter after retiring from East Tennessee University where she worked in Student Services, Director of Testing and Assessment. In her home Parish of St. Marys, Lea participated in Just Faith Program. Lea is a convert to Catholicism. In Tennessee Lea was active in her parish, St. Marys Parish and for several years served on the Knoxville Diocese, Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation. and lives her Baptismal promises at Sacred Heart as a member of the Choir, Sacristy Ministry and Vice-President of the Women of Sacred Heart. Her heart is in Catholic Social Teaching, i.e., concern for the poor and vulnerable, the unborn, elderly, issues of social justice and advocating that we are all servants of the Lord, responsible for the earth and all that live on it. Let us pray that we all imitate Jesus, as he walked the Holy Land, touching lives, healing bodies and souls.
