For several years, WSH members have generously given gift donations to long-term care facility residents for Christmas. We would like to continue this tradition to let residents know that we are thinking of them during this difficult time and to bring some good cheer to them. Below is a list of suggested items for donation:
Word Search books – large print
Adult coloring books and coloring pencils
Sugar-free cookies and candies
2021 calendars
Scarves for ladies
Baseball caps for men
Socks for men and women; also, socks with grippers
Jewelry – necklaces and bracelets that you can put on without using a clasp
Kleenex Chapstick or lipstick Nail polish
Large Emery Boards Hand or body lotion Soap or shampoo
Small Christmas tabletop decoration Small hand sanitizer
Please bring the donations to the October 8 meeting. Matthew 25 volunteers will divvy items up and try to tailor bags according to the needs/interests of residents. If you aren’t able to attend the meeting, you can drop off your bag at Jeanne Ryan’s office in the parish offices. Also, if it is easier for you or if you would prefer to donate several of one or a couple of items rather than a variety of gifts, that’s fine. Many of you have received numerous calendars in the mail. Please donate those that you don’t want. Lastly, if you aren’t able to shop, you can make a donation and a Matthew 25 volunteer will happily shop for you. Please contact Helen Walsh at [email protected] or 910-295-3551 if you would like to make a donation. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
